Temblay Signs (1987) Ltd.

Founded in 1942 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Tremblay Signs is one of Atlantic Canada’s oldest signage producers / installers, and has grown to become one of the largest and most well-equipped production facilities east of Montreal.

Our History

After its initial opening in 1942 under the ownership of John Tremblay, Tremblay Signs operated for several years as a small local fabrication / installation company before being sold to three of John’s employees, who in turn sold to current owner/operator Bill Mantle in 1987. Bill’s first large contract was a full signage refurb for Metro Self Storage in Burnside, which was completed the shortly after purchasing the company. In the following years Tremblay Signs quickly expanded and gained a reputation as one of Nova Scotia’s most reliable and creative sign makers. Bill bought and moved into a large 8000 square foot production facility, purchased new installation equipment & printing hardware, opened a fully equipped in-house neon plant (one of the only Nova Scotia neon plants still active today), incorporated Bluenose Lighting & Alarm as a sister company to Tremblay Signs, and fostered relationships with local artists to create one of a kind designs that couldn’t be found anywhere else.

In the mid 90’s and early 2000’s the advent of large retail / big box stores such as Walmart shifted the collective focus of the signage world from small local businesses to large chain contracts. At this time Tremblay was already a well-established manufacturer with a small fleet of installation trucks, bucket trucks, and skyhooks – as such we managed to secure installation contracts with many large international suppliers who were unable to install their products in Eastern Canada. These relationships have carried over into the 21st century and developed into longstanding contracts for companies such as Atlantic Superstore, Bank of Montreal, Pontiac GMC, TD, Telus, Couche Tard, and many more. Our partners hold us to the highest possible standard, and trust Tremblay to demonstrate the same dedication to quality and attention to detail that they do. We are proud to offer comprehensive, reliable service to our clients.

In addition to their role as installation & maintenance contractors, Tremblay continues to operate as a fully functional production facility for businesses within Nova Scotia. Our team of fabricators are some of the most experienced in Eastern Canada, and our account management and design experts are friendly and knowledgeable. The Tremblay Signs 8000 square foot fabrication shop allows us to fabricate heavy duty signage such as pylon signs and free standing single/dual pole signs in house, and our design team is equipped with the newest available design software to ensure your graphics exceed expectations (Adobe Photoshop, CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator, V Carve Pro). We also house a variety of wide format printing hardware, including:

  • Mimaki 54” wide format digital printer / plotter
  • Roland 54” wide format digital printer
  • 54” wide format cold laminating machine
